Volunteering - Sharing Your Talents
Our Commitment to Service:
Service is a fundamental part of the St. Agnes Academy and Parish community. We believe in the importance of giving back and fostering a culture of volunteerism among our students, families, and staff. Volunteering not only supports our academy but also strengthens our community bonds and enriches the educational experience for our students. It provides an opportunity to share your talents and make a positive impact.
The St. Agnes Catholic Academy Home & School Association is dedicated to building community. A child's growth and success is dependent on a strong partnership between educators and families, which makes these community-building events particularly important. We encourage every family to join Home & School as they work to organize a variety of activities and events throughout the school year. It takes a village to make St. Agnes the best place it can be for everyone in our community. Through your participation and commitment to our Home & School Association we can make that happen.
Please take some time to go through this list of events and prayerfully consider which events/fundraisers are best suited for your talents and personality. Your time and dedication to our St. Agnes Family are greatly appreciated!

Requirements For Volunteering
VIRTUS is the Safe Environment Program of the Archdiocese of Miami which commits to the safety and well-being of children and vulnerable adults. It is is an online training course addressing awareness, prevention of, and response to child sexual abuse. The policy require all employees and those volunteers with access to children for. ex.: parents volunteering as chaperones on fieldtrips, or helping in classrooms, or volunteering as coaches for athletic teams, or vulnerable adults, to pass a background check, to have their fingerprints taken, and to maintain an active and up-to-date Virtus account.
Virtus monthly bulletins are sent directly to a participant's active Virtus account the first Sunday of each month. At the same time, an email reminder is sent to the participant's email address on their account. Reading the monthly bulletins is required to maintain an active and up to date Virtus account and keep the participant eligible to serve. The bulletins take about 3 to 5 minutes to read and are a great way to provide information that is timely and topical, which can be essential especially when talking about internet and social media safety, which changes so frequently. The bulletins also keep you at the forefront of best practices for maintaining safe environments for children and vulnerable adults.
