Special Education Teacher (Full-Time) - St. Agnes Catholic Academy

St. Agnes Academy in Key Biscayne, Florida and has an opening for a Full-time Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2024-25 school year. This teacher will be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for teaching groups of students with mild to moderate disabilities. Primary tasks will involve using the existing curriculum in core subjects such as math and writing to accommodate the individual learning needs of each student for them to reach the yearly goals. This person must be supportive and respectful of the mission, vision, and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church and performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary is commensurate with degrees and experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in special education required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • State of Florida Department of Education – Special Education Certification.
  • Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role.
  • Good knowledge of current special education topics and methodologies.
  • Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities.
  • Ability to create IEPs.
  • Strong presentation skills with use of instructional technologies.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; PowerPoint a plus.
  • Good spelling and grammar required.
  • Effective oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
  • Must be fully committed, respectful, and supportive of the mission and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and St. Agnes Academy.
